At the end of August, I visited Cuba and wanted to share the experience with my readers, hope you enjoy and comment below to tell me why or not you would travel to this amazing country!

My feelings about Cuba at first were uneasy i have to admit, mainly because Cuba is a communist country and i had no idea what to expect. Although feeling these mixed emotions Cuba was a place i felt i had to visit especially hearing that it was like traveling back in time to the 50's. Upon arriving, the airport was very small and the walls colored in pastels as i had imagined but what blew my mind was being picked up by a 1953 chevrolet belair classic. Once settled in at my AirBandB home i was picked up and taken to tour Havana Vieja (Old Havana) the buildings were antique with many deteriorated walls, and the children joyfully played soccer in the streets barefoot. Poverty filled the streets but even so the people still smiled, laughed and seemed very happy regardless of economic situations. Every billboard praised Fidel Castro and the Revolution, and their currency coins all stated Patria o Muerte which translates patriotism or death therefore i highly recommend as a tourist to not ask too many questions and just stick to enjoying your trip and exploring the city. Cuba is one of the most safest places i've ever visited even safer then many places in the states and thats due to such a strict government but its something i did admire about cuba.

New construction buildings are in progress in la Havana as modern hotels will be opening specifically for tourist within the next year.  I visted one called la Manzana de Kimpsey which was the top of the line with the best mojitos great food, stores and amazing views from the rooftop pool/bar overlooking the city. Havana also had a carnaval along the Malecon, adorned by floats, food stands, music and thousands of people. Truly this trip was like a time capsule in every aspect from the architecture to transportation to having no internet and for me this was a  heartfelt lifetime experience that has left me beyond grateful and humbled. Overall i loved CUBA and i plan to be visiting again very soon as a piece of my heart has stayed in on the island.
