About 2 weeks ago, Nike and IGC (International Girls Crew) hosted a weekend long pop-up to celebrate the release of their Cortez iD. This was a BIG deal, as Nike hasn't dropped a shoe with a female since hmmmm Vashtie's Jordans? This wasn't your ordinary pop-up though, IGC made sure to have a nail bar on deck, yummy icy's, even a custom iD station right inside. However the best part of the event was the panel discussions that were held every night. One of the IGC members, along with some special guests, held an hour long talk about everything from their fashion sense, making it in the industry and how to power through it all as a female. With women like Grace Ladoja, Paloma Elsesser and Phoebe Lovatt on the panel, you know it was a must-go! All the women were beyond inspiring and I'm so grateful for them sharing their personal journeys with us.
We both grabbed a pair of the Cortez while we were there as well. We went with Paloma's pair, a deep green colorway with nylon fabric to represent her LA roots.
